CABOZANTINIB (KA boe ZAN ti nib) treats some types of cancer. It works by blocking a protein that causes cancer cells to grow and multiply. This helps to slow or stop the spread of cancer cells.

Grapefruit juice

· Severity: Major

· Notes for Consumers: Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit or grapefruit-containing foods while taking Cabozantinib. Side effects from Cabozantinib may get worse. Contact your prescriber immediately if you experience any new or unusual side effects.

· Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during cabozantinib treatment due to the risk of increased cabozantinib exposure and adverse reactions. Cabozantinib is a CYP3A substrate and grapefruit juice is a strong CYP3A inhibitor.
