RANIBIZUMAB (RA ni BIZ oo mab) treats eye conditions, such as macular degeneration, macular edema, and retinopathy. It works by slowing the growth of abnormal new blood vessels in the eye. It also reduces the amount of fluid that leaks from these blood vessels. This helps maintain vision. It is a monoclonal antibody.

This medication is injected into the eye. It is given by a care team that specializes in this treatment.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

This medication can be given via an implanted device. Tell your care team if you have an implant and need an MRI. They will need to follow certain conditions to ensure you are safely scanned.
